DATE: Art Deco, c.1920

Charming antique scalloped solitaire ring set with an extremely unusual diamond: a fancy colour light pinkish brown cushion cut with big chunky facets, high table, open culet, and slightly asymmetrical profile. I suspect the stone pre-dates the mount by a good 50 years, if not more, likely repurposed from an heirloom so as to be worn in keeping with current fashion trends (by current I mean 1920s fashion trends...). It's crafted in 18 karat white gold with platinum setting - eye-catching on account of the peculiar stone and elegant design.
